Interventional pain procedures
What are the benefits?
Interventional pain procedures can assist your patient(s) in the reduction of their pain intensity, facilitate rehabilitation and functional recovery. Pain procedures can have the additional advantage of reducing your patients need for medication and therefore any associated medication side effects. For some patients procedures can provide greater pain relief than medications alone and are much more precise by targeting the specific site of pathology. In some cases, pain procedures have been shown to promote healing (e.g. reabsorption of herniated intervertebral discs). Pain procedures can also be used when surgery is not an option.
