You do not need a referral to attend Anodyne. However, to receive a Medicare rebate for any medical specialist or allied health care services you will need a referral from your doctor. GP referrals last twelve months unless they are marked “indefinite” in which case no further referral is required. Specialist doctor referrals last three months. You can check with our reception staff on any existing referral expiry dates.

Anodyne can help you with all your pain management requirements. This can include primary pain conditions (e.g. fibromyalgia) or those associated with other conditions (e.g. spinal pain due to arthritis). As a holistic pain management centre, we can employ a range of non-medical and natural treatment options. We have access to a range of complementary and alternative health practitioners including chiropractors, naturopaths and acupuncturists to name a few. We all work together to ensure continuity, integration and coordination of care specific to your needs.

No one is excluded from Anodyne – pain can affect anyone. We see all types of patients, including third party insurance, Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Accident, Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA), and private patients.

Currently, Anodyne works with patients 18 years of age and upwards. Paediatric and adolescent pain management is coming soon.

We are located in the heart of Subiaco at 177 York Street. Please be aware that Dr Mondello also consults from Mandurah, which is located at the Murray Medical Centre, 34-36 Minilya Parkway, Greenfields. If booking your appointment with Dr Mondello please inform staff of your preferred location.

Parking at Anodyne (Subiaco): There will be a limited number of free parking bays at the front of the building. Metered street parking is available on Townshend Rd and Hay Street. Parking is monitored by the Town of Cambridge and a penalty of up to $1500 could apply if parked illegally. Parking at Murray Medical Centre (Mandurah): There are a number of free parking bays at the front of the building.

A minimum of 2 business days notice is required for any cancellations. This will allow any patient(s) on the waitlist to take advantage of these availabilities. Non-attendance and cancellations less than 2 days before the scheduled appointment will attract a cancellation fee equivalent to the cost of the appointment. Outstanding fees will need to be paid before any future appointments and/or treatments are scheduled.

In general, all prescriptions should be completed as part of a medical review. Prescriptions can be requested outside of appointments under special circumstances. Please be aware not all prescriptions can be faxed and posted to your nominated pharmacy. For opioids and other schedule 8 medications, you are required to see your doctor for your prescription renewal. Please note there may be a $50 fee for prescriptions requested outside of appointment times and must be paid for at the time of collection. In most cases you are able to consult your General Practitioner for repeat prescriptions.
